The Newport Harbor Nautical Museum is dedicated to preserving and promoting the nautical heritage of Newport Harbor, southern California and the eastern Pacific through stimulating exhibitions, and inspiring education programs pertaining to nautical arts, artifacts, events and customs.

SEA OF ADVENTURE - AN INTERACTIVE EXPLORATION OF MAN’S RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SEA
Newport Harbor Nautical Museum/ExplorOcean proudly presents Sea of Adventure, an interactive journey into the past, present and future of nautical exploration. Created in collaboration with world-renowned Academy Studios, Sea of Adventure is for anyone who loves the ocean.

COMING SOON: EXTRAORDINARY PEOPLE
On October 19, 2010 Newport Harbor Nautical Museum will introduce its newest exhibit, Extraordinary People, an ongoing presentation of diverse and iconic heroes of the sea. The exhibition will open with a retrospective of local hero, the late Nick Scandone, a Paralympic gold medalist in sailing.
A NIGHT FOR THE MUSUEM: LAUNCHING THE "SEA OF OF ADVENTURE"
Sea of Adventure opened on Friday, June 18th as part of our annual fundraising event A Night for the Museum: Launching the Sea of Adventure. The exhibit is in the East Wing Gallery, appropriately positioned just five yards from the waterfront intersection where Newport Harbor meets the Pacific Ocean.

It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that we present to you the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum 2009 Annual Report. As many of you know, we have all been hard at work over the past several years, working to refine and realize a vision not only for NHNM, but also the entire Balboa Village area. In FY 2009, that vision began to solidify in some very concrete ways. In fact, if there’s one word that describes the previous fiscal year, it’s “new”…
